About the IAPP

Lyn Boxall is a lawyer in Singapore, where she has lived since 2000.   As one of a small handful of foreigners called to the Singapore bar, she established Lyn Boxall LLC in March 2015.  The firm specializes in data protection and information security, advising a wide range of local and international clients, and also provides a range of general commercial legal services.

 

Lyn holds Bachelor degrees in Commerce and Law from The University of Melbourne and a Master of Laws (Intellectual Property) degree from Monash University.  As well as being an advocate and solicitor of The Supreme Court of Singapore, Lyn is a Member of the New York Bar, and is admitted to practice law in the State of Victoria, Australia, and in England and Wales.  

 

Lyn holds international certifications in privacy / data protection awarded by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), namely, Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified information Privacy Professional, Asia (CIPP/A), Certified Privacy Professional, Europe (CIPP/E) and Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP).   She is also certified by Exin (the global independent certification institute for ICT Professionals) as a Privacy and Data Protection Practitioner.  



Lyn is a co-author of ’88 Privacy Breaches to Beware of’, giving practical and operational tips about compliance with data protection requirements.  She is also the author of ‘Data Protection’ in Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore.
