About the IAPP

Karen is a security and privacy architect. She has a unique and long background in IT, IAM, information security and compliance which makes her the perfect go-between for linking IT and information security personnel with legal. She has a capability to translate GDPR legal requirements in a pragmatic way to architect and implement compliance on an operational business level.

Karen has an MSc Information Security from the Royal Holloway University of London (RHUL) and an MBA from Henley Management School (now a part of Reading University). She has written numerous articles, and authored two books: Virtual Shadows (2009, British Computer Society), and co-authored a book with Filip Johnssén (2018, IAPP).
