About the IAPP

Julie McEwen is a Principal Cybersecurity and Privacy Engineer and leads the Privacy Capability within the Cyber Solutions Innovation Center/MITRE Labs at the MITRE Corporation. She provides strategic privacy and cybersecurity advice to US federal agencies and international governments. She has helped public and private sector organizations in the US and internationally to address privacy and cybersecurity challenges in the use of technology, including work with privacy-enhancing technologies, artificial intelligence, connected vehicles, unmanned aircraft systems, social media, and consumer devices in the Internet of Things. She has also contributed to writing ANSI encryption standards for the financial services industry and NIST cybersecurity and privacy guidance.
