About the IAPP

Elaine is Associate General Counsel, Privacy at Facebook. Elaine is a member of their global privacy team and provides day-to-day legal assistance to internal clients worldwide on privacy and data protection matters.

Before joining Facebook, Elaine was in-house privacy counsel at multinational companies spanning different industries (specifically, technology, pharma and education). Elaine started her career as an associate in international law firms (first Hogan Lovells LLP then Goodwin Procter LLP) both in the US and Europe, where she advised clients across industries on IT/IP commercial transactions, privacy and data protection.

Elaine holds the CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM and CIPT credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is currently on the board of the IAPP's Certifications Advisory Board. She received her LL.B. from the Bocconi University’s School of Law (Milan, Italy) and her LL.M. from Boston University’s School of Law.
