About the IAPP

Heather Allen, CIPP/US is the Director of Privacy Management & Privacy Officer at CHG Healthcare, a locum tenens staffing company, where she leads initiatives related to privacy evangelism by way of collaboration with the product, data governance and information security teams and interactive education opportunities. Prior to CHG Healthcare, Heather was the Manager of Privacy for the Corporate Compliance team at Intermountain Healthcare, managing the team responsible for investigations, education and audits for their then seven hospitals and 295 medical group clinics. She was also the Senior Manager and Privacy Officer for 1-800 Contacts, Inc. where she lead out on implementing the privacy program and collaborating with various teams to become a covered entity under HIPAA.  

Heather received her B.A. from Utah Valley University and her MBA from Western Governors University. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, CIPP/US through IAPP, Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance through Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer through ISACA. She enjoys interacting and collaborating with other privacy, security and data governance professionals. Heather is also collaborating with other privacy professionals in rolling out a new privacy podcast, coming in January 2023.
