Mr. Speidel is the Privacy Counsel at the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He provides analytical and operational support for the CFTC's privacy program, including creating and leading privacy training and awareness programs, advising personnel on safeguarding PII and implementing the Commission's new procedures to ensure that privacy is designed into new systems, collections of information and network changes. He is also responsible for developing legally required public notices, including system of record notices (SORNs), privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and Privacy Act (e)(3) notices. Before joining the CFTC, he served as a privacy analyst at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, focusing on ensuring the protection of consumer complaints about a variety of financial products and was previously an Information Assurance Analyst at SRA International, Inc. He attended the St. John's University School of Law. He is a CIPP/G.
