About the IAPP

Stefan Krätschmer is Privacy Legal Lead for IBM's Corporate Privacy Programs, leading a team of privacy lawyers globally. The team has responsibility for IBM’s regulatory compliance program and other global privacy programs ensure compliance of IBM’s privacy framework with existing and upcoming privacy laws. Before that Stefan was IBM's Chief Privacy Officer in Europe, leading a team of Data Privacy experts within IBM across Europe. He has represented IBM, as well as business associations, before governments and regulators in the area of data privacy, compliance and IT. Before joining IBM, Stefan worked in private practice as a lawyer specializing in IT and data protection matters. Stefan did his PhD in private international law and is a member of the European Advisory Board at IAPP and other data privacy groups.
