France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, highlights the principles sports clubs should follow when considering data collection measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. The CNIL applies the definition of "health data" under the EU General Data Protection Regulation to instances in which it may apply during the pandemic, such as a temperature reading or test result. It also lists out the hypothetical situations when sports clubs would be able to process such information.
