Bloomberg reports U.S. national security officials and other foreign intelligence professionals expect potential risks around TikTok users' data being leaked to China to remain despite any data security agreement drafted by the U.S. Department of Justice. In 2020, the platform was set to be restricted in the U.S. over national security concerns before it reached a deal with Oracle to manage and control U.S. user data and limit data flows to China. U.S. Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., said TikTok has "a big mountain to climb with me to prove the case that it can really be safe."
