The Wall Street Journal reports ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, agreed to a partnership with Oracle regarding the management of the short-video app's U.S. operations. Instead of the previously reported outright sale of TikTok's U.S. network, ByteDance opted to make Oracle its "trusted tech partner." The deal, which is said to meet data security standards, is pending review by the White House and Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S.
