Reuters reports TikTok is closing in on a deal with multinational Oracle to store U.S. users' personal data without allowing access to its China-based parent company, ByteDance. The proposed agreement follows a pact made between the two companies in September 2020 in an effort to remedy U.S. data security concerns with TikTok's U.S. operations running through China. The deal will require review and approval from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. TikTok is also seeking partnerships with other technology companies over cybersecurity measures.
