Mexico Sen. José Alberto Galarza Villaseñor introduced amendments concerning the territorial scope of the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties. The proposal includes updated definitions regarding roles within a covered entity and the responsibilities and potential liability they take on if working out of Mexico's jurisdiction. The amendments would also distinguish between the establishment of business activities versus that of a company's legal entities.
