The Wall Street Journal reports acting U.S. Census Bureau Director Ron Jarmin is optimistic the use of a contested differential privacy method in upcoming 2020 census results will be effective despite noted concerns. "I'm pretty confident that it's going to meet users' expectations," Jarmin said. "We have to deal with the technology as it is and as it evolves." The results are scheduled to roll out in the middle of August.
