A report from security firm Proofpoint found scammers deceived more email users with CAPTCHA technology in 2020 over the year prior, CyberScoop reports. The technique, used to authenticate human behavior, received 50 times as many clicks in 2020 as it did in 2019. “Attackers don’t hack in, they log in, and people continue to be the most critical factor in today’s cyber attacks,” Proofpoint Executive Vice President of Cybersecurity Strategy Ryan Kalember said.
