MediaPost reports startup DataGrail published "The State of CCPA," a report which shows trends in the exercising of data rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act in 2020. The report reveals the majority of the 137 data subject requests per million identities made to business-to-consumer in 2020 came when the CCPA took effect in January, while request rates bottomed out during the summer. DataGrail CEO Daniel Barber said consumers are "not only more aware of how their data is being used than ever before," but they also "have options to protect their information."
