The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of New Zealand announced the Privacy Act Amendment Bill was introduced to Parliament. The proposed legislation calls on covered entities to disclose reasoning for data collection and the first and third parties that will have access to data. Privacy Commissioner Michael Webster said he supports a "broader transparency requirement" and said the proposal is aimed at "keeping up with international best practice."
