Solara Medical Supplies’ proposed $9.76 million settlement over a 2019 data breach that affected approximately 114,000 individuals received preliminary court approval, the HIPAA Journal reports. Between April and June 2019, unauthorized individuals accessed employee email accounts containing sensitive employee and patient information belonging to the diabetes medical product and supply company. Under the settlement, individuals who submit a valid claim will be eligible to receive a $100 cash payment.
