The Colorado attorney general's office is seeking preliminary comments toward Colorado Privacy Act rulemaking. The office is asking for comments on 16 topics, including "dark patterns," universal opt-out mechanisms, data brokers, profiling and more. Initial comments will go toward the attorney general's decision-making, but they will not be considered part of the rulemaking record. The attorney general will schedule public hearings for on-the-record stakeholder engagement once the draft regulations are published. Attorney General Phil Weiser previously said the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking would likely come fall 2022.
