Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser provided his view on upcoming Colorado Privacy Act rulemaking. Weiser said his office has a "two-step process in mind" that starts with stakeholder sessions in the form of "high-level conversations at meetings and townhalls." He added that his office "will post a series of topics for informal input" over the coming months to solicit responses at sessions with an eye toward issuing a formal Notice of Proposed Rulemaking by fall 2022. The ultimate goal is to adopt rules six months ahead of the CPA's July 1, 2023, effective date.
