OPC unveils principles for trustworthy generative AI development, uses

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada released principles for developing privacy-protecting and trustworthy generative artificial intelligence. The OPC reminded developers that any generative AI models for use in various industries must comply with applicable privacy laws. The principles include obtaining and documenting the legal authority and consent to use personal information for training a generative AI model and the collection of personal data must be for an appropriate purpose.
