The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office opened a public consultation on the opinion of how to address age assurance while complying with the Children's Code. In the opinion, the ICO explains how age assurance can "form part of an appropriate and proportionate approach" to helping age assurance software providers comply with the code. The regulator is also calling for evidence to better understand age estimation approaches. The consultation and evidence submission period is open through Dec. 9.
