Hello, everyone.
Yesterday, I shared that we have been listening to your questions and concerns as they relate to COVID-19 and that we will always prioritize the well-being and safety of our members, sponsors, staff and anyone affiliated with the production of our events and gatherings. This has been a fluid and complex situation with new developments daily, and, in response, we have a new update.
The IAPP has decided to postpone next week’s Data Protection Intensive: UK 2020 in light of the growing concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the U.K.
Of course, this was not an easy decision. We realize how much energy, effort and time our speakers, sponsors and attendees put into the planning and preparations for an event like this. But taking into consideration the rapidly developing situation on the ground over the past hours, including the latest reports from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we have made the decision to postpone.
The well-being and safety of our speakers, sponsors, attendees and staff are paramount.
We appreciate your patience as we explore possibilities for rescheduling this event at a later date. We will be in touch separately with attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, trainers and trainees with more information shortly.
If you have further questions, be sure to check out our FAQ page here.
We are grateful for your understanding and wish you a safe and healthy weekend.
