The U.S. Federal Trade Commission filed an amended complaint against data broker Kochava for its alleged practice of selling "sensitive (user) geolocation data," MediaPost reports. The new complaint was filed under seal because the FTC "anticipates that defendant Kochava Inc. may take the position that some of the materials referenced, excerpted, or cited in the amended complaint constitute trade secrets" and was sealed "out of an abundance of caution." The amended complaint comes after a federal judge recently dismissed the FTC’s complaint against Kochava for engaging in unfair business practices.
