Australia Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus and Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell jointly announced the country joined the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules Forum. The joint statement described Australia's desires for "interoperability and cooperation" between economies while working to "bridge differences in data protection and privacy frameworks."
