Brazil's data protection authority, the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, issued guidance for understanding the legal instances under which there is legitimate interest for processing personal data. The guidance focuses on the balancing test between purpose, necessity and safeguards to process data legally. Meanwhile, the ANPD also opened a public consultation through 28 Feb. on draft guidelines for anonymization and pseudonymization.
