In an extensive report, TechRepublic dives into how a tool developed to help policymakers research human trafficking could be useful for other complex, global issues. The United Nations' International Organization for Migration used Microsoft's open-sourced Synthetic Data Showcase tool to help track victims of human trafficking without compromising their privacy. According to the report, the tool, along with other techniques such as casual inference and complex data visualization, may also help people who collect data get the appropriate information to decision-makers more quickly.
