Woolworths supermarkets in Western Australia are installing artificial intelligence security cameras at self-serve checkouts to help identify when items have not been properly scanned, ABC reports. Woolworths' Assistant State Manager Elisha Moore said privacy protections are in place, including blurring any faces inadvertently detected. Moore said the technology is in response to "an increase in retail crime and theft."
