A LexisNexis Risk Solutions study, "Fraud Trends to Watch in 2021," found the personal information of 45% of Americans was exposed in a data breach in the last five years, MediaPost reports. The study found hacks occur every 39 seconds and more than 4,500 data breaches have been publicly disclosed since 2005.
