Spain's data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, released its annual action report which showed a record-breaking number of complaints regarding unwanted advertising, video surveillance and other data protection violations. In 2023, "the AEPD received 21,590 complaints, which represents an increase of 43% compared to 2022 and 55% more than in 2021," the agency reported.
