TechCrunch reports the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles endured a ransomware attack affecting its database containing information on low-income families. Hackers accessed 15 terabytes of data from the housing agency, which potentially included personal details of families seeking housing assistance. The stolen data also included records from the agency’s payroll, human resources and accounting files. The authority serves more than 19,000 families.
