Newsom called the law an "aggressive action" on "the real issues our children are experiencing online" while praising its provisions for children's data processing limits and data protection impact assessments on online services that could be accessed by minors. He also mentioned the Children’s Data Protection Working Group, established by the law and tasked to review and report on implementation by the time the bill applies July 1, 2024.
