The Jordan News reports the Parliament of Jordan's lower house approved the proposed Data Protection Law. The bill will apply to covered entities retroactively and establish a regulator, the Personal Data Protection Council, within the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. The bill would take effect six months after being published in the Official Gazette of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
