Google has removed an undisclosed number of personal loan applications in India from its Play Store following a review based on reports from users and government agencies, Reuters reports. A Reuters review of 50 lending apps found at least 10 breached Google’s rules and regulations designed to protect users and nearly all required users to give apps permission to access phone contacts. Google said companies that fail to confirm compliance “will be removed without further notice.”
