Under a proposed order with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, consumer credit reporting company Experian Consumer Services will pay USD650,000 and ensure consumers are offered a way to opt-out of marketing messages. A complaint filed by the U.S. Department of Justice, on behalf of the FTC, claims Experian spammed consumers with unsolicited emails after they registered for an account to manage their credit information.
