The Council of Ministers of Thailand approved a draft royal decree that would carve out exemptions for public bodies from the Personal Data Protection Act, The Nation Thailand reports. As drafted, “agencies related to national security, public safety, tax collection, international cooperation and legal procedures” would be exempt from the PDPA. The draft exemption for Thai public agencies is currently being reviewed by the Office of the Council of State.
