The Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union announced the council's final approval for the Digital Markets Act, the final step to full adoption. Czech Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization Ivan Bartoš said the DMA will hold online platforms "responsible for their actions" and "ensure fair competition online, more convenience for consumers and new opportunities for small businesses." The law will apply six months after it is signed by EU institutions and published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
