In a class-action lawsuit filed against Snapchat, two Illinois residents claim the company’s Lenses application violates the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, MediaPost reports. The complaint alleges the app — which can add effects to photos — scans users’ faces without meeting BIPA’s requirement for companies to obtain written releases before collecting certain biometric data, including facial scans.
