The British Columbia Supreme Court ordered province's Information and Privacy Commissioner to reconsider a decision that would allow for the release of names and addresses of Airbnb hosts in the city, the Vancouver Sun reports. The Supreme Court said an initial decision by the privacy commissioner to release the information, following a freedom of information request in 2019, incorrectly classified home addresses as business, rather than personal information. The data, "taken cumulatively, ... would enable the discovery of a treasure trove of personal information," the court said.
