VLP Law Group announced in a press release that it has added Melissa Krasnow, CIPP/US, as partner in the Privacy & Data Security, Technology Transactions and Mergers & Acquisitions Practice groups. “Melissa’s nationally recognized expertise in domestic and cross-border privacy and data security matters and issues is a tremendous addition to our Privacy & Data Security and Technology Transactions Practice Groups and to VLP as a whole,” said VLP Technology Transactions Practice Group Chair Brian Swanson. “We are thrilled to welcome Melissa to the VLP team.” Krasnow echoed Swanson's sentiments. “In light of the importance of technology to companies, I am excited to join VLP Law Group, where technology is a strength, as Silicon Valley is in its DNA," she said. Former Department of Defense special counsel and Rhodes scholar David Simon has joined Mayer Brown's Washington office as its Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice, the firm announced in a press release. "David is known for handling cutting-edge cybersecurity and national security matters throughout his time at the Department of Defense, as well as in the private sector, and is a terrific addition to our expanding global team,” said Mayer Brown's Raj De. "I am excited to join Mayer Brown’s exceptional team of cybersecurity and national security lawyers," Simon said. “I believe that Mayer Brown’s impressive global platform, full spectrum cybersecurity, national security and government contracts practices, as well as its expertise on the underlying technology, complement my existing practice." Simon joins the team after his most recent stint with Sidley Austin.
