What do you like about your professional association? Is it the resources, the website and webinars, the networks, the listserv or even this little Digest... I'd blush!

For me, my favourite thing about the IAPP is the way they put on amazing conferences.  Even in the early days, when only a couple of hundred people would show up, the conferences were great. It is with a fair amount of humility and honour, therefore, that I now help organize the premier conference in Canada: the Symposium

If you click on the link above, you’ll get to the main page, but we haven’t disclosed everything about the conference just yet. Let me say this: The Commissioner’s Game Show will be back, the soiree will be at the Steamwhistle Brewery, the keynotes are going to be informative AND entertaining, and we’ve added a bunch more in the breakouts to give everyone attending a little (or a lot of) something they will like.

It sounds almost ridiculous because I say it every year, but I’m convinced this conference is going to be the best one yet. It will definitely have the most people and I hope you seriously consider being one of them.

The best thing — always — about the Symposium is the energy created by getting hundreds of awesome privacy pros into the same place. If you’ve attended in the past, you’ll know what I’m referring to. I hear it all the time from people who attend for the first time. They say that it just oozes with great people trying to learn to do the right thing. It really does create a unique and positive energy.

So, if the Digest is your favourite IAPP offering (right?), then I hope you consider making the Symposium at least the second favourite. And register. Have a great weekend, everyone.
