Busy enough for you? There is something about this season that is just so hectic, despite the fact that we started seeing Christmas trees and hearing holiday music as early as November 1. Of course, I don’t want to complain about it—that would make me sound Scrooge-like—but I’m definitely looking forward to a few quieter and slower days. Once I've finished my Christmas shopping, that is.

This will be the last Digest for 2014. I was tempted to do a “year in review” or a “top 10 things to look for next year” issue (yes, wearables would be on that list). Upon reflection, though, I figured you’d get many of these lists in your inboxes over the next two weeks, so it would just add to the stress of the season. My partner has reminded me that, for you, it's probably not stressful to read at all—just stressful for me to write!

In any event, I think the number of issues we have before us in the year ahead is pretty long. Longer than a top 10 or 12 countdown, for sure. The trick for the privacy professional will be to stay ahead of the curve, and that will be no easy task.

So, instead, let me just say rest up and enjoy family and friends, a very Happy Holidays to you all and see you in 2015.
