The IAPP’s interactive solution designed to drive privacy awareness within organizations, Privacy Core e-learning, is now broadening its reach. Previously only available to customers who had their own learning management systems in place, the IAPP recently launched a learning management solution to reach those without, enabling more companies to deliver Privacy Core’s library of data-privacy training to employees.

Training Director Marla Berry, CIPT, said the decision to launch the Privacy Core Learning Management System came from close market research.

“In talking to potential customers, it was clear that there were organizations who would be interested in the Privacy Core e-learning library, that had no way to deliver it to their employees," she said. "We wanted to be sure that we could provide a mechanism to deliver the product.”

The solution was to launch a learning management solution, enabling more companies to effectively deliver training content to employees. While many customers have learning management systems in place, small and mid-sized entities are often boxed out of the process simply because of the rigor and requirements needed to have a learning management system in place.

Berry said, “It’s a big responsibility to take on a learning management system. The reality is, there are 600-700 different systems out there, and while some organizations may be able to take on the burden of researching, purchasing and installing learning management systems, the truth is, it’s a really big ask.”

Learning management systems can be complicated and require resources unavailable to some, including training an employee to administer the system. The learning management system available through the IAPP is designed to help organizations rapidly deploy Privacy Core e-learning through a turn-key LMS system.

Berry said, “The system that we’ve chosen to move forward with is user friendly and is set up in a way that the client doesn’t need their own administrator to deliver the training to their employees.” She added, “We think this offering will be of great appeal to potential customers who are interested in the training have no system in place to deliver it to their employees.”

Available now, Berry said the IAPP can work with clients to discuss what the learning management solution can look like for their organization, enabling those previously left out of of the Privacy Core conversation.
