TechCrunch reports Google Play launched its privacy "nutrition labels" program, the Google Play Data safety section. The labels, which mirror those rolled out by Apple in December 2020, inform mobile applications users on data collection and use practices by developers. The safety section includes details on types of data collected, third-party sharing, security measures and more. Developers have a July 20 deadline to finalize their disclosures as Google will gradually roll out its program until then.
