On June 16 and 17, 2022, European Data Protection Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiórowski will gather regulatory stakeholders to discuss effective approaches to enforcement, including an assessment of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. In a video announcing the conference, to be held in Brussels, Wiewiórowski said GDPR brought “many advances” in protections of personal data, but also “brought to light” several shortcomings. “This conference will seek to critically discuss these shortcomings and explore improvements and alternative methods for enforcement of GDPR, including a more centralized approach,” he said.
