France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, is reminding website developers to examine their cookies and ad-tracking practices in accordance with the amended cookies guidelines and recommendations. The guidelines allowed a six-month grace period that will end March 31. The CNIL reached out to 200 public entities and approximately 100 private actors to notify them of potential cookies violations with their websites. Additionally, the CNIL offered tips and tools to help achieve compliance.
