France's data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, released its three priority themes for its 2021 control actions. The CNIL will dedicate more than 50 of its actions this year to matters related to cybersecurity, the use of cookies and health data. The focus on health data and cookies was carried over from last year's themes, while cybersecurity was an underlying theme identified in the regulator's overall control strategy. Additionally, the CNIL will also remain zeroed in on control actions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
