The French data protection authority, the CNIL, has announced the areas of focus for a portion of its 2020 control procedures. The CNIL opens 300 control procedures annually, including more thorough investigations, reactions to current events, checkups on adherence to corrective measures and priority theme examinations. In 2020, more than 50 of those control procedures will relate to health data security, geolocation use and cookies compliance. "These three themes were chosen by the CNIL because of their impact on the daily lives of citizens," the CNIL wrote. (Original post is in French.)
