As it plans for the continued global growth of the privacy profession, the IAPP has hired three senior staff members to help anchor its success in bringing data privacy education, certification and resources to professionals worldwide. Brad Clark has been appointed vice president, Dick Soule as certification director and Rita Di Antonio as managing director of IAPP Europe. Clark brings an extensive background in business management, finances and strategy to his role as IAPP vice president. He served as the chief marketing officer for The Motley Fool, a financial solutions company for investors, and as the co-founder of Military.com, a site dedicated to connecting the military community to the advantages earned in service. Most recently, Clark ran InvestorGen, a lead-generation firm for the financial services sector. Clark will focus on helping the IAPP build organizational strategies and deploy its growing certification program. Soule brings extensive experience to his role as certification director. He worked as vice president of business development at Assessment Systems Inc., which serves state regulatory agencies and national associations, and as director of business development at Schroeder Measurement Technologies, which specializes in the delivery of certification testing. Most recently, Soule served as vice president of credentialing services at Heuristic Solutions, a web-based platform for managing certification program maintenance. Di Antonio comes to the IAPP as the former editor of data protection and privacy global online resource DataGuidance. She will lead the IAPP’s efforts in Europe with assistance from an advisory board of European data protection leaders, and she will represent the IAPP in the major data protection conversations in the region; develop relationships with existing national data privacy professional associations, and have direct responsibility for managing the annual IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress. She will also spearhead efforts to launch the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E)—the first professional credential that demonstrates comprehensive understanding of privacy and data protection laws in Europe. “Rita, Brad and Dick bring tremendous depth of knowledge to their respective roles,” says IAPP President J. Trevor Hughes, CIPP. “They will play integral roles in helping the IAPP reach its strategic long- and short-term goals in the coming months and years, and we’re thrilled to have them onboard.”
