Yahoo ceased providing email service in China, effective Feb. 28, The Register reports. In a Yahoo Mail FAQ posted on its website, the company claimed, “the increasingly challenging business and legal environment in China, including new privacy regulations,” were what forced it to stop operating there. Yahoo notified Chinese users Feb. 26 of the move and advised them to download contacts and other work.
