The Better Business Bureau National Programs Children's Advertising Review Unit highlighted six major changes found in its revised CARU Advertising Guidelines, which goes into effect Jan. 1, 2022. The new guidelines cover advertising directed at children under 13 years old in any media. The current iteration of the guidelines is directed toward children under the age of 12. The revamped guidelines also tackle diversity and inclusion and in-application and in-game ads and purchases.
